Emphasis on the following areas of assistance: Knee Surgery and Orthopedic Traumatology (knee, pelvis, acetabulum, and lower limb trauma surgeries). Research activities currently focused on surgeries of the anterior cruciate ligament, posterior cruciate ligament, osteotomies around the knee, proximal femoral fractures, open fractures of the tibial shaft, and tibial plateau fractures.

Graduated at Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) in 1993. He underwent medical residency in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Hospital das Clínicas of FMRP-USP during the years 1995 to 1999, and was an assistant physician of the Hip Surgery team at the same institution from December 2001 to February 2010. He obtained the title of Doctor in Medical Sciences in 2007. Full time Professor at Ribeirão Preto Medical School since 2010. In 2015, he did a Post-Doctorate at the Instituto Rítoli Orthopedic (Bologna, Italy) on Minimally Invasive Hip Arthroplasty and Hip Revision Arthroplasty. Post-Doctorate at Rush University Medical Center (Chicago, USA) on Biological Therapies and Hip Preservative Surgery in 2019/2020. He is currently Associate Professor MS-5 of the Department of Orthopedics and Anesthesiology at FMRP-USP, working in the area of Hip Surgery.

Full Professor, head of the Department of Orthopedics and Anesthesiology at FMRP/USP. He works mainly on the following subjects: traumatic injuries, deformities, degenerative diseases, and spinal tumors.
