Graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Uberlândia.
Holds a Master’s degree in Bioengineering from the Interunit Program involving the School of Engineering of São Carlos (EESC), the Ribeirão Preto Medical School (FMRP), and the Institute of Chemistry of São Carlos, all part of the University of São Paulo (USP).
Earned a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from EESC/USP and completed his Livre-Docência (habilitation) at FMRP/USP in 2009.Currently serves as a Retired Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Anesthesiology at FMRP/USP. He has experience in the field of Biomedical Engineering, with an emphasis on Biomechanics, focusing primarily on the following areas: Technological testing of biological and non-biological materials (including tensile, compression, torsion, bending, and shear tests); Mechanical properties of muscles, spine, tendons, ligaments, and bones; Ergonomics; Movement biomechanics; Design of orthopedic and dental equipment, instruments, and implants.

Gabriela Rocha Lauretti

Completed a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Manchester (1989–1990) and a fellowship in Interventional Pain at Withington Hospital, University of Manchester, England. Earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Manchester in 1992.Received a PhD in Clinical Surgical Medicine from FMRP-USP in 1995. Achieved the academic title of Livre-Docente (Associate Professor) at FMRP-USP in 2002. Currently serves as a faculty member and professor in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School – University of São Paulo. CNPq Researcher and member of the multidisciplinary research group at the University of São Paulo in partnership with the University of San Diego. Recognized in the integrated database of the most influential scientists, as published by Stanford University and Elsevier BV, updated on October 19, 2021. Listed among the Top 20 Most Influential Researchers at USP in December 2021. Awarded the title of Pioneer in Interventional Pain Treatment in Latin America in September 2024. Included among the most influential researchers in the world in 2024.
